CPT – TAKING FLIGHT

Even World Champions Trust CPT
Many people know that CPT supports elite sports as a regional sponsor. One example is track cyclist Joachim Eilers, who has been a multiple European champion and even a double world champion in his discipline. However, CPT has also supported these significant successes in another, lesser-known way: The company not only sponsors the athlete but also co-developed and produced the specific deformation bodies for the highly sensitive sensors in the “power2max” power meter that Eilers uses during training. These ensure precise measurements under all conditions, including rain or snow, and extreme cold or heat. Such exact performance measurement makes high-level training success possible. Whenever and wherever Joachim Eilers was racing at impressive speeds, the CPT hummingbird was always along for the ride, adorning not only his helmet but also his distinctive green socks.

DAS FORSCHUNGSPROJEKT InTeLeMat heißt:

 

„Informelle, technikunterstützte Lernsysteme in der Matrixproduktion“.
Um in Zukunft marktfähig zu bleiben, müssen KMU´s flexibler werden,
Möglichkeiten der Digitalisierung nutzen, Prozesse umgestalten und soziale
Belange der Belegschaft berücksichtigen. Mittels der Matrixproduktion, soll die Fertigung flexibler und lernfähiger gestaltet werden.
CPT ist als Projektpartner an der Problemstellung, Erforschung
und Umsetzung im Unternehmen beteiligt.

KÜNSTLICH UND MENSCHLICH INTELLIGENT:

 

Wie lassen sich durch künstliche Intelligenz neue Arbeitsformen gestalten? Und wie kann künstliche Intelligenz in der Planung und Steuerung
der Produktion bestmöglich eingesetzt werden? Diesen Fragen geht
das Forschungsprojekt 1.   „Künstlich und Menschlich Intelligent" („K-M-I“) nach, an dem CPT als Verbundpartner aktiv mitarbeitet. KI als Treiber für neue Formen der Arbeit und neue Geschäftsmodelle müssen zusammen gedacht werden, um zukunfts- und wettbewerbsfähig zu bleiben. Gefördert wird das Projekt durch das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, Projektträger ist das Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT).

WERKZEUG- UND PROJEKTENTWICKLUNG:

 

Wie lassen sich schwer zerspanbare Werkstoffe möglichst
ressourceneffizient zerspanen? Die Lösung heißt kryogene
Hochdruckkühlung - und wir sind als Verbundpartner an einem
Forschungsprojekt dazu beteiligt. Zum Einsatz kommt eine
Hochdruck-Kryoanlage, die den flüssigen Stickstoff bis zur Werkzeugschneide befördern kann. Das Verfahren soll Werkzeugstandzeiten und Schnittgeschwindigkeiten bei schwer zerspanbaren Werkstücken erhöhen. Gefördert wird das Projekt durch das Bundeswirtschaftsministerium
(Zentrales Innovationsprogramm Mittelstand ZIM).

MISSION DIGITALER ZWILLING („TWIN"):

 

In diesem Projekt, an dem CPT ebenfalls beteiligt ist, steht der Entwicklungsprozess zur Fertigung von Prototypen (Produktentstehungsphase) mit Hilfe des
sogenannten Laser-Pulver-Auftragschweißens (LPA) im Fokus. Zu diesem Zweck entwickelt TWIN ein digitales Produkt-Service-System (mit einem digitalen Zwilling als Kernobjekt) unter Beteiligung der gesamten Wertschöpfungskette der industriellen generativen Fertigung. Dazu wird der Fertigungsprozess stärker modularisiert,
sodass zusätzliche Interaktionspunkte zwischen den Partnern entstehen und in Form „Smarter Dienste“ dynamisch erbracht werden. Somit ergibt sich ein geschlossenes System, welches genauen Details zur Logistik und zum Verlauf der Prozesse verarbeitet und darstellt. Projektträger ist das Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT). Gefördert wird das Projekt durch das Bundeswirtschaftsministerium.

PROTOTYP FÜR PROTOTYPEN:

 

Mit additiv gefertigte Präzisionskomponenten aus Hochleistungsstahllegierungen beschäftigte sich ein weiteres Großprojekt im Bereich Forschung und Entwicklung, an dem CPT neben weiteren Praxispartnern beteiligt war. Die Komponenten aus diesem Werkstoff eröffnen insbesondere für die Prototypenfertigung neue Perspektiven.

ZARTES PFLÄNZCHEN, GROSSE WIRKUNG:

 

Die Jatropha-Pflanze, ein Wolfsmilchgewächs aus Zentralafrika, gedeiht auf kärgsten Böden, ist keine Esspflanze für Mensch und Tier, hat aber einen großen Vorteil: Ihre Nüsse sind extrem ölhaltig. In einem spannenden Forschungsprojekt haben CPT und weitere Partner einen Kühlschmierstoff auf Basis des Jatropha-Öls entwickelt.

MISSION „CYPRO ASSIST":

 

Auch an einem Fertigungsassistenzsystem unter Verwendung sozio-cyber-physischer Produktionssysteme forschte CPT gemeinsam mit Partnern. Ein Schwerpunkt dabei: die Entwicklung neuartiger Algorithmen zur Erfassung von Produktionsdaten. Die Zukunft hat bereits begonnen – und wir gestalten sie mit, indem wir Innovationen forcieren.

The research project InTeLeMat is called:

 

"Informal, technology-supported learning systems in matrix production."
In order to remain competitive in the future, SMEs must become more flexible, use digitalization opportunities, redesign processes, and consider the social needs of their workforce. Matrix production is intended to make production more flexible and adaptable. CPT is involved as a project partner in the problem definition, research, and implementation in the company. ARTIFICIALLY AND HUMANLY INTELLIGENT:

 

How can artificial intelligence be used to shape new forms of work? And how can artificial intelligence be best used in production planning and control? These are the questions being addressed by the research project "Artificially and Humanly Intelligent" ("K-M-I"), in which CPT is actively involved as a partner. AI as a driver of new forms of work and new business models must be considered together in order to remain future-oriented and competitive. TOOL AND PROJECT DEVELOPMENT:

 

How can difficult-to-machine materials be machined as resource-efficiently as possible? The solution is cryogenic high-pressure cooling - and we are involved in a research project on this as a partner. A high-pressure cryogenic system is used that can transport the liquid nitrogen to the cutting edge of the tool. The process is intended to increase tool life and cutting speeds for difficult-to-machine materials. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (Central Innovation Program for SMEs ZIM).

MISSION DIGITAL TWIN

 

In this project, in which CPT is also involved, the focus is on the development process for manufacturing prototypes (product development phase) using so-called laser powder bed fusion (LPA). For this purpose, TWIN is developing a digital product-service system (with a digital twin as the core object) with the involvement of the entire value chain of industrial generative manufacturing. To this end, the manufacturing process is being modularized to a greater extent, so that additional interaction points between the partners are created and dynamically provided in the form of "smart services". This results in a closed system that processes and represents precise details of logistics and process flow. The project sponsor is the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics.

PROTOTYPE FOR PROTOTYPES:

 

Another major research and development project, in which CPT was involved alongside other industry partners, focused on additively manufactured precision components made from high-performance steel alloys. Components made from this material open up new perspectives, especially for prototype manufacturing.

DELICATE PLANT, BIG IMPACT:

 

The Jatropha plant, a spurge native to Central Africa, thrives on the poorest soils, is not a food plant for humans or animals, but has one big advantage: its nuts are extremely oily. In an exciting research project, CPT and other partners have developed a coolant based on Jatropha oil.

MISSION „CYPRO ASSIST":

 

CPT also conducted research on a manufacturing assistance system using socio-cyber-physical production systems in collaboration with partners.
